From 50 billion “moooommmsss” to the laundry literally laughing at me — still unfolded, still not put away.

Went into full survival mode and I made it.
If I wasn’t breastfeeding… I would 100% drink this entire bottle of wine tonight.
By myself.
No sharing.

IT POURED!!
Mother Nature finally listened—and we are here for it!!

Not a sprinkle. Not a drizzle. A straight-up downpour and it’s exactly what we needed! 🙌🌧️

Just a few days ago, our county declared an ag state of emergency because of the brutal drought conditions. No rain = no hay, no pasture, dry dugouts, stressed crops, and hard-as-heck decisions for farm families.

This life doesn’t come with a backup plan. When it’s dry, we have to ask:
➡️ Do we have enough hay to feed the herd?
➡️ Do we sell cattle to make it through winter?
➡️ Will the crops even pay for what we put into them?
➡️ Are the pastures done for the season?

This rain doesn’t solve it all—but it gives us hope.
🌱 Hope for a second cut.
🌾 Hope the crops get one last boost.
🐄 Hope the pastures hang on and the dugouts fill just enough.

Today, rain is a blessing.
So pour away, Mother Nature—we’ll take every last drop. 💧💚

My method = fluffy, neat little rectangles that stack like a dream in the linen closet.
His method = flat, floppy squares that throw the whole shelf off balance (IMO).

I may or may not refold the ones he does… ok I totally do. 😅

We made it! 🏕️

We made it to our camping destination for the weekend without any kid meltdowns… which is honestly a miracle in itself. Now, I won’t speak for myself because there may or may not have been a minor mom meltdown while trying to pack for both me and Cyrus today—especially after last night’s cluster feed marathon. Let’s just say… he’s still the boss around here.

But I’ll keep this short and sweet: I’m officially unplugging for the weekend! 📵✨ It’s time to slow down, soak up the chaos, and make some memories with my little crew. The only thing I’ll be using my phone for is snapping pics of muddy feet, messy s’mores, and (hopefully) smiling faces.

Last night felt like a boob marathon. Cyrus decided sleep was for the weak (me) and went full-on cluster feed mode. He wouldn’t sleep unless I was holding him—so picture me, zombie-eyed, running on 43 seconds of sleep and a very strong cup of coffee this morning.

But truthfully? I love the newborn stage. I know that sounds crazy to some—especially when you’re running on fumes and reheated coffee—but there’s something so peaceful about those quiet nights. No loud sisters. No barking dogs. No background TV noise. Just my sweet boy and I, snuggled under a warm blanket in the still of the night. These are the moments I hang onto… because I know I won’t get them again.

Of course, by 6:40am, Novah was up. She tiptoed out, saw her mom half-asleep with her baby brother in her arms, didn’t say a word, just smiled that sweet little smile and asked for a blanket. 🥹 After settling Cyrus into his swing, I made some strong coffee (yes, I debated whether grinding fresh beans would wake the house—but let’s be real, I NEEDED that caffeine). And it was worth it. Even if I do reheat it three times before noon.

Bluey came on (because it’s also my favorite) and Novah and I snuggled under the blanket together for a little mom-daughter cuddle session. It was quiet and sweet…until the boob monster sensed I was relaxing and decided it was his time again. 😂

It’s a rough morning—but only for me. And I’m okay with that. Somehow, I always find the will to power through and make sure each of my kids gets the love and attention they need. Even if my coffee never stays hot and I look like I lost a fight with a laundry basket.
