Mom Shaming is NOT Cool

I’m going to get raw and real here for a moment because I see this all the time—on social media, in “mom groups,” even out in public—and it needs to be said:

👉 Mom shaming is NOT cool. Period.

In today’s world it’s easy for people to sit behind a screen and toss out negativity like it’s candy at a parade. We call them keyboard warriors. They’re tough when they’re typing but would they actually say those things to someone’s face? Probably not.

As a mom of three, let me tell you—this motherhood thing is TOUGH. We are all just trying to keep our tiny humans fed, clothed, and alive, all while juggling everything else in life. Sweatpants, messy ponytail, reheated coffee…that’s my uniform most days. And guess what? That’s okay.

Here’s the truth: we all parent differently. So why the judgment? Why the shaming?

Stop Mom Shaming!
Stop Mom Shaming!

Some parents don’t allow sugary snacks after 6 pm—because bedtime turns into a circus otherwise. Some limit screen time—because meltdowns follow when the iPad goes away. Those are valid choices. Just because you do things differently doesn’t mean you’re wrong—or that another mom is wrong either.

My kids? They’re far from perfect. Do they listen? Sometimes. Do they do what I ask? Usually with a side of sass. But here’s the kicker: they’re mine, and I’m doing the best I can for them.

These 3 are all mine and I'm doing the best I can for THEM!
These 3 are all mine and I'm doing the best I can for THEM!

What people often don’t see is the “why” behind the choices. That mom in the grocery store with a toddler screaming bloody murder? Maybe the poor kid missed a nap and is overstimulated. That mom texting at the park? Maybe she’s checking in on a friend struggling with mental health. That mom who looks like a hot mess in the checkout line? Maybe she just buried a loved one and this is her first attempt to step back into the world.

We never know what someone else is walking through. So let’s stop with the judgment and remember this: Be kind. Always.

ALWAYS BE KIND! You never know what someone is going through!
ALWAYS BE KIND! You never know what someone is going through!

Motherhood is messy. It’s loud. It’s exhausting. But it’s also the most rewarding, beautiful, terrifying job in the world. At the end of the day, we’re all just trying to raise good humans.

So to every mom hiding in the pantry with a chocolate bar for two minutes of peace—I see you. I feel you. You CAN do this. And you WILL, because those babies need you.

✨ Be kind. Support one another. We’re all in this hot mess together. ✨
